Our Horticulture Programme connects rangatahi (youth) to the land, offering practical training in sustainable gardening and cultivation techniques. With a focus on mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge), students learn how to nurture plants, grow kai (food), and care for the whenua (land). By completing this program, students gain the skills necessary to achieve NCEA Levels 1 and 2, while deepening their understanding of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and the importance of environmental stewardship in both personal and professional contexts.
Key Outcomes:
Sustainable gardening and cultivation techniques
Connection to Māori values and traditions
NCEA Levels 1,2 and 3 in Horticulture
Our building program equips rangatahi with hands-on experience in the construction trade, teaching them essential skills for creating and maintaining structures. Students will gain knowledge of building processes, safety practices, and sustainable construction, all while working towards NCEA Levels 1 and 2. The programme empowers students to build not only physical structures but also strong foundations for their future careers and personal development.
